Campus Update

Today on campus ranged from normal responses to odd ones.

We usually go on campus each day and start conversations with students, asking them to take part in a survey, sometimes using a tool called Soularium (50 pictures to use as an answer to questions about life, God, and religion), or just talking to students. Below are the conversations I, Halle and Kathryn had with students.

We first talked to two students who agreed that Jesus's central message was joy in life.

Then we tried to talk to two girls who then said they weren't interested when we brought up that we were part of a Protestant student group.

We then talked quickly with three students who only had two minutes (or so they said). Halle asked them some new questions we've been using:
1. What do you like and dislike about Christianity?
2. What was the central message of Jesus?

I liked the guy's answer to number one. He said church was soporific, which then brought about a reminiscence of vocabulary books gone by. Apparently, Halle did the same ones we did at VHHS!

We then had another conversation with two girls and a guy. One of the girls was completely disinterested. Then the girl and guy were debating each other about how to live the Christian life! It was so refreshing to meet someone like that, as Halle said later, someone who loves Jesus.

Our last conversation was with two exchange students. We tried to start with Soularium but then the guy started asking us questions! And somehow the Footprints in the Sand poem was thrown into the conversation. He said it was hard to find Christian community in Nantes, so we invited him to our weekly meeting.

Please be praying for the 3-on-3 basketball tournament this weekend. Pray for the weather to be good and the court to be dry! Please also pray for our team's health. Pray for us to get rest each night.

Here are the weekly prayer requests we send to our partnership campuses in the States.

1. Basketball tournament - pray for nice weather and an effective gospel presentation
2. Vision team from Ohio State - pray they'll catch the vision for France and God will send more laborers from OSU
3. Pray for an appointment Keith is having this week with an East Asian student to present the gospel
4. Pray for follow-up with Sophie, the new believer as of three weeks
5. Pray for the health and rest of our team
